Simple and stable bittorrent

Tomato Torrent is a simple torrent client that uses up little memory.

The application is built on the original Bittorrent client, making it very stable, and offers a very similar interface. It also uses up very little memory, meaning that you can easily have it running in the background and still launch other applications. However, obviously, avoid having too many torrents connected if you don't want to use up all your bandwidth.

Tomato Torrent includes a quick resume function to launch downloads that had been put on pause. You can also set them to automatically stop at a certain seed ratio and set your own upload rate. Tomato Torrent also lets you easily create your own tracker, if you're interested in distributing your torrents.

Tomato Torrents supports AppleScripts, and if you know your way around them, you can really create your own customized torrent client.

Even though it does offer many features, it probably lacks all the advanced statistics you get in Azureus or the smart features of Tomato Torrent.

All in all though, Tomato Torrent makes for a very good, easy to use and stable torrent client for Mac.

Seems simply and easy ... yet .... Why does it take forever to open up a torrent? Mine has yet to do anything other than "Please wait ... getting torrent info". Disappointed. Pros: Seems (and I believe it is) simple and easy to use Cons: Doesn't seem to be that effective at all ... or I'm doing something wrong

Tomato Torrent-lack of guidelines and instructions. As a newbie. I would like to find a coherent list of how-to's; including what each setting does and means. I am trying to download something that I started two days ago, and it is still only a little better that 50% finished. Am I able to do something about this? What are "seeds" and how can I improve the download rate above 2 Kb/sec? Am I the only person who wants to download this file? How in fact to I shut down and restart the download the next day if I want to shut down my MAC for whatever reason? There is no information on the developer's site. And I have been trolling for hours on the internet for clear, concise information. Please help.Thank you kindly..Cheers.
